Man charged with beating and raping his girlfriend in St Louis
A man has been accused of beating his girlfriend with a wrench and a gun, raping her, and locking her in a dog cage and stabbing her with a knife.
Michael M Damrell, 25, of St Louis, Missouri, is charged with kidnapping, rape, domestic assault and armed criminal action.
The alleged beating and assault took place in February, in a home on the 700 block of Shenandoah Avenue.

Police documents reveal he struck his former girlfriend in the head and the body with a gun and a wrench at the start of the attack, the St Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Damrell then allegedly locked his partner inside a dog crate and stabbed her multiple times in the arms and the face, police said.

Bail for Damrell was set at $150,000. Police did not have him in custody on Monday, according to the Post-Dispatch.
