Maddie and Tae are one of the most exciting country music acts to come from the US, with their laid-back nice girl attitudes and stellar harmonies the best friend duo create excellent music together and engage with their fans on a personal level.

But despite their talents the girls found themselves without a recording contract last year after their label Dot Records was forced to shut down. Thankfully Maddie and Tae are now signed to Universal Music Group and are ready to make and release new music once again.

But 2017 was not an easy year for the ‘Girl In A Country Song’ hitmakers, as Maddie Marlow has opened up about how she dealt with depression for a large part of 2017. The brave and open singer revealed her struggle with the illness in a reflective 10-minute video via Social Media.

Both Maddie and Tae appear in the honest clip where Marlow opens up saying: “II’m being honest, I went through a really, pretty tough depression after the label thing happened … I kind of always was the person that had a plan, had it figured out, and I never kind of been like dropped on my ass before. That was really hard and my self worth was tied into it, my purpose, everything.”  

Despite the hardships suffered last year, the country duo have promised fans that 2018 will be filled with new music and happiness as Maddie is feeling much stronger, confident and happier these days.

In the video she states:  “I truly look in the mirror and love who I am today because of the pain that I had to go through to get here. I’m not going to allow my trials to defeat me, I’m going to let them build me up and learn from them and take as much wisdom as I can from each trial” 

The friends also confirm that they will release new music this year with Maddie saying a new album is “110% coming out!”. While Taylor Dye (Tae) hopes to tour in the US following a successful run in Europe. “2018, we are coming for you,” Marlow promises.
