Brian Schatz is an American politician. A Democrat, he has served as a U.S. Senator from Hawaii, since December 26, 2012. He was previously Chairperson of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, from May 2008 to January 2010, and the 11th Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii, from December 6, 2010 to December 26, 2012.
Brian is the son of Barbara Jane (Binder) and Irwin Jacob Schatz, a cardiologist. His father was from Saint Boniface, Manitoba, Canada.
Brian is married to Linda Kwok Kai Yun, with whom he has two children.
