After rumors flew for years that August Alsina and Jada Pinkett were having an affair, he outright confirmed it in multiple interviews. The singer recently opened up as to why he feels he had to clear things up.
August recently spoke to People Magazine where he basically said that being labeled as a homewrecker messed up his business dealings. This not only affected him but also his three nieces that are in his care due to both of their parents sadly passing away.
‘I never really cared about what people thought of me, but my personal life started to seep into my business life. There were certain falsities about me, and it affected my business relationships. I could understand why it would look like I’m reckless or disrespectful so it really started to affect my livelihood, and I’m never okay with that. I got three kids to look after. Kill me, hate me, stone me, but bury me an honest man. All I can do is tell the truth.’

This comes after his bombshell interview with Angela Yee in June where he revealed that he and Jada were in a relationship and he was in love with her. He said that Will Smith gave him permission to pursue it.
Jada and Will hosted a special episode of Red Table Talk where they explained that they were split when this entanglement happened.
As far as August’s dating life, he says that he likes being single for now.
‘Life is still unfolding. I’ve spent a lot of time in a relationship. It’s like the first time you’re back on your own type thing. There’s been a lot of rebuilding within myself, a lot of healing within myself that has had to happen. But I’m very okay.’
